Results

Annual generation (kWh)
Total annual savings (COP)
Monthly savings per household (COP)
Total investment (COP)
Effective cost after incentives (COP)
Payback period (years)
Project IRR with FENOGE
Project IRR without FENOGE
CO2 avoided (tonnes/year)

These figures are the project IRR — the return on the community's energy savings. They are not the institutional investor's IRR, which the financial model places at 8-12% (see financial model). Both figures are calculated after Ley 1715 tax incentives; the difference between them is solely the FENOGE co-financing. That is why they are not comparable to the 8-12% "without co-financing" range in the financial model, which is calculated on gross investment and without incentives. 25-year cash flow, 2% annual degradation, and 2% annual O&M on CAPEX. Does not include inverter replacement, insurance, or financing costs, because no project source documents those figures — their absence makes these returns optimistic. Indicative figures; they do not constitute an offer or investment advice.

The sun rises for all

Colombia has one of the highest solar irradiation levels in the world. Energy cooperatives turn that advantage into savings, jobs, and sovereignty for the communities that need it most.

Five lessons for Colombia

Drawn from nine cooperatives in the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany. Each one cites its source case — these are not testimonials, they are findings.

Source: International case studies — synthesis of the nine documented European cases.

438 cooperatives in the Netherlands did it

We adapted the European model to the Colombian context: 30% community ownership, investment from COP 200,000, and hands-on support from the first meeting to the first electricity bill.
